Lesson One - Creating a Blog. Voki.

Hi, this is our course blog. Note its URL as you will often come here during the course. There at least four reasons for that.

Firstly, this is where you will get tasks every week.

Secondly, here on the right-hand panel is the link to a Google sheet where you can follow your course progress. Please mind that by the end of the 17th week you are to get at least 60% of the total task points to complete the course successfully.

Thirdly, this is where you are to report the completion of the “comment on three other groupmates” task. (You are to leave permalinks to your comments under the post of the corresponding lesson).

Finally, here you can ask questions about the blog and the tasks, write your feedback and ideas.

These are the tasks for today:

1. Create a blog at www.blogger.com. If you need help, look here (Steps 1-9)
2. Post your name and the link to your blog in the comments to this lesson.
3. Turn off word verification for comments (Dashboard -> Settings -> Posts and Comments-> Comments-> Show word verification -> No ->Save Settings)
   
4. Introduce yourself to your readers. Write your first post and tell about your likes. Use at least one link, an image and a video in your post. Look here for help. 

At Home

1. Practice blogging and browsing vocabulary at http://quizlet.com/join/yJhw64zUv
2. Complete the class tasks.
3. Tell three surprising facts about yourself with a speaking avatar Voki. Mind that pics with a cap are only available in a paid account. Use text-to-speech or a microphone to voice your Voki. Save and publish it in your blog with a special Blogger button.
4. Comment on three posts of your groupmates. Leave the permalinks to your comments under this post.
